Ecosystem

ARSENAL is an ecosystem for innovation and knowledge transfer within the UPF Faculty and Department of Communication. It builds on a tradition of nearly three decades of supporting practical projects and applied research emerging from predoctoral and postdoctoral investigations, as well as from undergraduate and master’s degree students.
ARSENAL supports project teams throughout the creative and production process, providing the conditions necessary for their work to enter the professional field. Its goal is to help projects develop beyond their academic stage, reach their audiences, and generate a social and a cultural impact.
According to their field of knowledge and level of study, its projects are organized into four platforms: ENTER, REACT, LEAD, and ADVANCED. In coordination with En Residència, of the Poblenou campus management, ARSENAL also develops programmes with strategic actions in innovation and knowledge transfer, with a strong cultural and social focus: +Rain Film Festival, GAMEPLAY, Projecta’t. Veus creatives diverses, Nutrimedia, and LIPSea-M.
Areas of intervention
ARSENAL offers a continuous and flexible model for the entry and flow of projects across its platforms, hosting them with varying levels of intensity, resources, and timelines. Depending on their theme and formal diversity, stage of development, and specific needs, the type of support provided differs in each case.
