Synopsis

Years after the closure of the town’s pub, a group of young people from Puigverd de Lleida come together to create a community-based play and rebuild a space where they can truly be themselves.

The pub, Plató 3, had once been a place to come together and feel a sense of liberation, and progress for the youth of Puigverd de Lleida. Now it is a bikers’ warehouse. When they meet again, someone utters a phrase that feels like a cry for help, a melancholic awakening, and a declaration of love: we should do something.

Based on this spark, Albert, one of the pub’s former owners, decides to create a play about the pub and what it means to be young when you are not fully allowed to be.

During the process, Albert’s absence as director, the insecurities hounding María, the documentary director, and especially political threats from the local council that once shut down the pub, will jeopardize the premiere until the very last moment.

Project description

Plató 3 is a documentary feature film addressing the social reality of a forgotten collective: rural youth, often stigmatized and rarely represented in their own voice.

ARSENAL ENTER intervention

The project arrived at ENTER already filmed and edited but it needed reshooting and a final edit. ENTER has provided mentorship with industry professionals, meeting and editing spaces, audiovisual equipment, and guidance for applications to labs, work-in-progress programmes, and grants. It is currently part of the Laboratory of Editorial Accompaniment of Creative Documentaries (LABED) at the UPF.
