Synopsis

Climate change has generally been associated with aspects linked to nature, such as the loss of biodiversity and the destruction of ecosystems. While this perspective is not wrong, it overlooks other realities that the unprecedented increase in global temperatures has triggered, such as climate migration processes. This is the theme of Displaced News, which aims to bring the reality of climate migrants closer to the young public through new communication formats on social media. Between July 2022 and June 2023, the team created an Instagram account featuring interviews and news about migration linked to climate change. Broadly speaking, the authors on Displaced News have sought to diversify the narratives of a global crisis that is directly related to global human well-being and health.

Project description

Displaced News is a journalistic project that provides informative key points to raise awareness about the consequences of climate change.

The goal is for the project to grow after its stage as a final year project with a solid structure. We are providing support in defining its objectives, structure and possible paths to follow to enhance the project’s professional profile. We do this through mentoring, mutual support and the creation of a network that helps the project grow within a professional environment.
