Synopsis

It is another day in Sant Quirze de Besora. Everything seems the same as yesterday: the same actions and conversations in the same places, repeated day after day, year after year.

Palomero, Bernat, and Nen embody the conflicts that certain men face today in rural environments, confronted with a society increasingly dominated by urban rhythms and thought. The three bachelors are part of the “Colla de la Garrafa,” a roe deer hunting group.

The ritual that traps and sustains them is infused with disenchantment. Loneliness, fear of aging, and frustration over being unable to leave the village are hidden behind alcoholism and rigid masculine roles.

Their stories can only be understood through the ambiguity of reality, facts that may seem contradictory from the outside but constitute their truth and essence.

Bèstia explores the visceral and vulnerable dimensions of man, along with their relationship with nature. It avoids dramatization, criminalization, or judgment, offering instead an observational portrait through the eyes of a young filmmaker seeking to understand the most primitive aspects of human nature.
