The TRust, Independence, Impartiality and Accountability of Legal professionals under the EU Charter (TRIIAL) is a project of the Centre for Judicial Cooperation of the European University Institute which aims to provide training activities and tools for judges, lawyers, prosecutors and other legal professionals in the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.

With funding from the European Union, the initial version of the project ran from 2019 to 2022 through the organization of various workshops in the different participating countries, and now the TRIIAL 2 version aims to give continuity to this initiative until 2025.

Pompeu Fabra University, with its Department of Law, is one of the twelve institutions that are part of the consortium of members, with Professor Aida Torres from the area of Constitutional Law as the main researcher involved. In this condition, the University will host one of the twelve transnational workshops related to judicial independence, on which information will be provided in due course (more information here).
