GARCÍA ALTÉS, ANNA

She is an economist, PhD in Medicine and Surgery, Master in Public Health, and MSc Health Policy and Management from Harvard University. She works in the Area of the Health, Social and Health Map, Public Health and Research at the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya. She is currently the president of the Health Economics Association.

She has previously worked at the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Evaluation of Catalonia (AQuAS), the Public Health Agency of Barcelona, at the King's College London & London School of Economics, at the Department of Health of New York City and as a consultant for the World Bank. She is the President of the Health Economics Association and Vice Chair of the Expert Panel on Effective Ways of Investing in Health.

She has experience in economic evaluation and applied econometrics, and has led and coordinated research teams. Her interests focus on economic evaluation, the evaluation of public policies and the contribution of healthcare services to the health of the population, topics in which she has published almost a hundred indexed articles.
