Antonino Firenze (Siracusa 1976) is currently Associate Professor of Contemporary Philosophy at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. He studied Philosophy at the University of Urbino and he obtained his European PhD in Humanities at Pompeu Fabra University in 2005 with a study on the Body problem in Merleau-Ponty’ work. He has been visiting scholar at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and at Sorbonne (Paris IV). He has also been funded by Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Filosofici for carrying out postdoctoral research. His main research interests focus on Phenomenology, Philosophical Anthropology, and History of Political Philosophy. He has published Il corpo e l’impensato della filosofia (Mimesis, 2011) and «’A dog does not exist but merely lives’: The Question of Animality in Heidegger’s Philosophy» (Philosophy Today), among several articles in journals and edited volumes.
