Elizabeth Sarah Coles
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow

Elizabeth Sarah Coles is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Her research project, ‘The Other Post-Criticism’ (Horizon 2020 | MSCA grant agreement No. 887344), addresses experimental form, style, method, and media in contemporary literary criticism and the essay, with an emphasis on writing by women. 

Elizabeth studied at the University of Cambridge (BA, MA, MPhil.), where she was awarded the Tom Henn Prize for English and the Wood Whistler Medal; and at Queen Mary, University of London(PhD, supervisor: Jacqueline Rose), where she coordinated the ‘Psychoanalysis, History, and Political Life Forum’ (School of Advanced Study, University of London). She has published on literary theory and criticism, psychoanalysis, and contemporary literature inedited collections and indexed journals including New Formations, Feminist Theology and Psychoanalysis and History. Her co-edited book, Wild Analysis: From the Couch to Cultural and Political Life, a volume of essays on psychoanalysis, politics, and contemporary culture, is published with Routledge (eds. Bar-Haim, Coles, and Tyson, 2021). Her monograph on the poet, translator, and essayist, Anne Carson, is currently under review.
