Summary of 1st VPH summer school 2016

06.06.2016

Finally the four members of CardioFunXion got to know each other in Universitat Pompeu Fabra for the VPH summer school!

Starting on Monday with the presentation of Bart Bijnens the audience could already see how the summer school was going to be. After the mornings with presentations we had some activities and practical sessions in the afternoon. In fact, the four members of CardioFunXion presented the practical sessions the very same Monday in the afternoon making the participants hesitate between the projects. Some of them wanted to make the courses simultaneously but this was not possible due to the time required to finish the proposed projects. Mariana and Cecília presented the Hands-on session about machine learning

and Gabriel and Èric presented the Hands-on session for lumped models using CellML and OpenCOR.

There were two more Hands-on sessions prepared by Patricia Garcia and Jérôme Noailly, both researchers in UPF about lumped models for fetus circulation and the musuloskeletal system, respectively. For more information you can check the program of the VPH summer school http://bcnvph.org.

Here we also post a couple of pictures that summarize the summer school (including the beer tasting).

Here you can see Marta (PhD student from UPF) explaining her poster:

Finally, we want to thank everyone for participating in this first VPH summer school! And thanks a lot to all the people who helped organizing it. It was very nice :)
