PhD in Public Communication from the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. She currently combines teaching with research as professor in the Department of Audiovisual Communication, Documentation and Art History at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Ariana’s area of specialization is new media. She has worked on numerous investigations related to the use of social media, activism and the new information habits of youth, investigating the impact of ICT in different areas of life. She has had several stays at international universities, one of the most recent at the University of Cardiff, one of the most outstanding Social Communication research. In the last five years she has participated in different competitive research projects financed by the National R&D Plan on active audiences and journalism and at a European level on youth, urban gangs and the use of networks. She is a member of the iMetrics Lab research groups of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and of the Research Group on Youth, Society and Communication (JOVIScom) of the Pompeu Fabra University.
