Biography

Sofia Jaime is a Junior Researcher at the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM-UPF) since January 2022. At RECSM her work focuses on measurement quality and comparability of questions used in the European Social Survey.

Besides, Sofia is finishing her Master in Research in Social Sciences at the Carlos III-Juan March Institute of Social Sciences for which she was awarded the Juan March Servera Scholarship. Previously, she was a Teaching Assistant in Social Structure and Change at the Social Sciences Department of Carlos III University, Spain.

She got an MA in International Development Cooperation from the Institute of Migrations of Comillas University, Spain and received her Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. During her undergraduate she workds as Research Assistant of Social Structure at the Gino Germani Research Institute, Argentina and studied at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Germany.

Her research interests lie widely within the field of social stratification. Her work focuses on occupational structure measurement and social mobility, which she studies implementing advanced quantitative methods.
