Martín Rocamora joins the MTG as a senior researcher

Martín Rocamora joins the MTG after a long experience in teaching and research at Universidad de la República (Uruguay), where he has been an assistant professor in signal processing and machine learning at the School of Engineering and teaching assistant in music technology at the School of Music. He also created and directed the Audio Processing Lab with members from the School of Engineering and the School of Music. He completed B.Eng., MSc., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering at Universidad de la República. His research focuses on applying machine learning and signal processing to audio signals, with applications in machine listening, music information retrieval, and computational musicology.

Martín will do research within the team of Xavier Serra, contributing to most of the topics we are working on, such as computational analysis of sound events, music classification, multimodal music processing, computational musicology, music performance analysis, and audio source separation.
