Sonosuite is a digital music distribution company based in Barcelona with which we worked in a project to automatically assess music quality. The goal was to reduce the amount of time a quality control team has to spend listening to the music to ensure it reaches the industry standards. To this end, we developed a series of algorithms using Essentia that are able to automatically detect most of the common audio problems in music.

Luis Joglar, researcher at Sonosuite and alumni of the SMC master, will conduct a workshop at Sonar+D on September 19 at 17:30, to present the results of this project.

Abstract of the workshop:

In general, producers, djs, and audio engineers have to manually control if the audios they work with have any issues. With this workshop, Sonosuite will show how the open-source Essentia library can help detect automatically any problems that might exist in the audio tracks. They will also learn how to control the final results of their work to adequately distribute it to all major streaming platforms and digital shops.
