The second Maria de Maeztu Strategic Research Program (CEX2021-001195-M) of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) takes place between 2023 and 2026. The website for this program is under construction. You can find some details in this news.

The first María de Maeztu Strategic Research Program (MDM-2015-0502) took place between January 2016 and June 2020. It was focused on data-driven knowledge extraction, boosting synergistic research initiatives across our different research areas.

JRC-CAS is now launching the three year interdisciplinary project HUMAINT, led by Emilia Gómez, to understand the potential impact of machine learning in human behaviour and societal welfare. It will be carried out at JRC centre in Seville, Spain. The team is currently being created, the open call for postdoctoral positions is available here. On November 9th, around the cellebration of  the World Science Day for Peace and Development , we will hold an open debate around on the relations between technological development and human behaviour, in the context of some of the research carried out at the Department.

The JRC Centre for Advanced Studies (JRC-CAS) was established to enhance the JRC’s capabilities to meet emerging challenges at the science-policy interface.

In this context, and in the framework of the World Science Day for Peace and Development (November 10th), we started an open discussion around aspects linked to the relations between technological development and human behaviour, in the context of some of the research carried out at the Department.
