Rubén Moreno Bote, awarded an ICREA Acadèmia Prize

Rubén Moreno Bote, professor at the DTIC, is coordinator of the Theoretical and Cognitive Neuroscience Research Group at the Centre for Cognition and the Brain (CBC). His research focuses on the link between neural activity, perception, and behavior and decision-making. In recent years they have analysed the 'neural code' (that is, the format in which information is encoded in neuronal activity), with special emphasis on sources of perceptual errors and decision-making due to coding or decoding errors. Currently, the aim of his research is to further advance in the understanding of these links, exploring new territories of behavior.

Rubén adds to the other DTIC professors currently recipients of the award: Davinia Hernández Leo, Antoni Ivorra, Angel Lozano, Gemma Piella, Núria Sebastián i Xavier Serra.

The ICREA Academia grants, which have reached their fourteenth edition, are an initiative that contributes to retaining research talent in Catalonia. Awarded by the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA), they distinguish the research career of teaching staff who carry out their activity in one of the Catalan public universities and who are teaching. The grants are endowed with 40,000 euros per year, for a period of five years, so that those selected, who are in an active and expansionary phase, can intensify their careers.
