My research goals gravitate towards a better understanding of brain structural and functional organization in health and disease as well as the use of music as a rehabilitation tool. I´m now a postdoctoral fellow from the Beatriu de Pinós programme that will enable me to extend the neuroimaging analysis of two randomized controlled trials with music-based interventions to rehabilitate cognitive functions and speech in traumatic brain injury and chronic stroke patients with aphasia, respectively. During my period at UPF, I will examine whole-brain dynamics, and apply in silico stimulation models, in order to gain a deeper understanding of the brain’s response to these interventions and identify a set of biomarkers of treatment response that may be important for the stratification of patients in future clinical trials.
