A new website allows prospective university students to find out online about UPF bachelor’s degrees and make an appointment to solve their queries
Connecta’t i informa’t includes videos in which lecturers and students present each of the University’s bachelor’s degrees. The website allows booking a Skype appointment with the UPF promotion team to clear up any doubts and queries.
Pompeu Fabra University, in the context of the new situation brought about by the coronavirus crisis leading to the cancellation of briefings to schools and open days, has created a new website aimed at prospective university students. Its main goal is to help them, based on personalized information, to be well informed as to which bachelor’s degree course to choose and where to study it.
The website Connecta’t i informa’t, promoted by the UPF Institutional Communication and Promotion Unit, includes several online resources such as videos in which different lecturers and students clearly and entertainingly explain the features of each of the bachelor’s degrees offered by the University in conversation with members of the promotion team.
The website is structured around eight areas of knowledge corresponding to the various UPF faculties and centres: Health and Life Sciences, Political and Social Sciences, Communication, Law, Economics and Business, Engineering and Information and Communication Technologies, Humanities, Translation and Language Sciences, plus a separate section for the UPF Open Degree. Each section includes a list of the different degree programmes offered, and within each degree, there are videos, a fact sheet and a prospectus.
Lecturers and students explain each of the bachelor’s degrees at UPF
Some of the aspects dealt with by the lecturers (some of whom hold academic positions) in these videos are the features of the curriculum and of the subjects, internships, tracks, assessment, the bachelor's degree final project and career prospects, among others.
Students, usually in their last years of studies, explain their experiences and views, always with the aim of providing prospective students with practical, insightful information: how they see the degree programme, why they chose UPF, what a typical day is like for them, their job prospects and the dedication required for their studies are some of the issues they deal with.
Booking a Skype appointment to clear up any doubts
One of the main features of the new website is the chance for prospective university students to book a Skype appointment (during the months of April and May) to clear up any doubts and queries they may have.
To do so, you must complete and submit a form, which has already been requested by more than thirty prospective students. Members of the University promotion team will contact everyone who takes advantage of this service by phone.
Moreover, Connecta’t i informa’t includes other information resources, such as the bulletin for high school students L’Hora del Pati and the UPF student blog Universitari per fi.
