The new publication, which focuses on articles on contemporary film essays, has been edited by Lourdes Monterrubio Ibáñez.
We announce the publication of issue 18 of Comparative Cinema, published by the CINEMA group. The issue focuses on the contemporary film essay as a vehicle for audiovisual thought and has been edited by Dr. Lourdes Monterrubio Ibáñez (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), within the project EDEF - Enunciative Devices of the European Francophone Essay Film.
The dossier includes articles published by Josep Maria Català Domènech, Laura Rascaroli, Lourdes Monterrubio Ibáñez and Georges Kouvaros, which delve into theoretical reflections on the audiovisual essay, slowness as a counter-hegemonic essayistic tool, the position of the spectator as a space for thought and the capacity of the essay to go beyond the limits of thought. You can also find an interview with Bertrand Bacqué on the work of Pietro Marcello.
