The presentation of an educational platform wins an award at an international congress
Laia Albó and Davinia Hernández-Leo, researchers with the Research Group on Technologies for Education, have won the Best Demo Award for their presentation of the ILDE/edCrumble platform at the 13th European Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning, held in Leeds (United Kingdom) from 3 to 6 September.
Laia Albó and Davinia Hernández-Leo, researchers with the Research Group on Technologies for Education (TIDE ) with the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) at UPF, took part in the 13th European Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL 2018), held from 3 to 6 September in Leeds (UK), where they presented a couple of research papers pertaining to the project ILDE2/edCrumble, an online learning platform that enables teachers to create learning designs (LD) combined with the support of data analysis.
EC-TEL 2018 includes an original session, the Demo Shootout, in which the participants present their proposals to the public using technological tools to improve learning (Technology-Enhanced Learning, TEL).
One of the works on the ILDE2/edCrumble platform was granted the Best Demo Award and Laia Albó participated in a seminar on co-creation explaining the process of the creation of the edCrumble platform. This tool has been developed thanks to funding obtained for the Recercaixa COT project and the RESET project.
ILDE2/edCrumble is built on the LdShake platform, which provides social functions that allow sharing and co-editing combined learning designs (LD). In addition, the tool provides an innovative visual representation of the LD that combines face-to-face and virtual learning in different locations (in class and out of class) and at different times (synchronous and asynchronous). Decision-making during the LD process is compatible with two types of analysis: resulting from the design of the sequential activities on a timeline (LD analytics); and aggregated metadata extracted from several groups of LD (analysis of the community).

In the course of the conference, Davinia Hernández-Leo, vice-chairwoman elect of the European Association for Technology-Enhanced Learning (EATEL), has responsible for co-organizing an EATEL General Assembly and an EATEL workshop on Open Science in the laboratories of technology-enhanced learning (TEL). In this seminar, Hernández-Leo presented the paper “Open Science strategies in TEL labs: the case of the TIDE_UPF research group”.
