2015 – 2020: PhD in Virology at the Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology (HPI), Hamburg, Germany. I have studied herpesvirus use of protein aggregation and autophagy as an immune evasion mechanism.
2012 – 2015: Master degree in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology — Università degli Studi di Bologna, Italy. I have studied the Inhibition of autophagy during Kaposi’s sarcoma associated herpesvirus replication.
2008 – 2012: Bachelor degree in Biotechnology — Università degli Studi di Messina, Italy. I have studied the role of mBcl-2 upon Herpes Simplex type 1 infection.
Research Experience
May 2021 to present: Postdoctoral researcher in epitrascriptomic, Molecular Virology group, at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain.
March 2020 – March 2021: Postdoctoral researcher in the Virus-Host-Interaction research department at the Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology (HPI), Hamburg, Germany. I have studied the mechanisms of inhibition of programmed cell death during herpesvirus infection.
