Margot Mecca holds a Ph.D. in Geography (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2018), a degree in Literature and Linguistics (Università di Firenze, 2010) and a Master in Geographical and Anthropological Studies (Università di Firenze, 2012); her master dissertation was published as a book by Pacini (Italy) in 2013. She is a post doctoral researcher at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and an associate lecturer at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her main research interest are: adolescents; gender; youth; urban space; nightlife; daily life; urban geography; qualitative methods; reflexivity; audiovisual methods; visual anthropology; documentary cinema. She worked as a researcher both in Italy (Università di Firenze) and in Spain (UPF; UAB). She did research stays at Université Paris VII - Paris Diderot (France) and at ICS - Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal). She also works in the field of documentary cinema as a freelance producer and collaborates with Festival dei Popoli, International Documentary Film Festival (Florence). In 2018 she attended the international training course for documentary producers "Eurodoc".
