On May 16, 2019 took place the Conference 'Perspective and Perspectives + 18, How we encourage the participation of young people?'. The act was structured around two discussion tables. In the first one there was a panel of experts in the field. Carles Feixa (PI Transgang, UPF), Barbara Scandroglio (UAM) and Luís Caballero (INJUVE) participated in the table and Francisco Javier Gavilán (FEPA) moderated it. The table focused on the analysis of the youth participation, mainly of migrant workers. Barbara Scandroglio focused her presentation on two questions 'what is participation' and 'what are the basis of the participation'. She spoke about the need to build 'citenship' and 'empower them'. Carles Feixa introduced the gang topic and highlighted how gangs can open spaces for participation. He also spoke about the research about gangs developed during the last twenty years in Catalonia. Finally, Luís Caballero focused on a quantitative review of the participation of young migrants based on data from the INJUVE.

Gonzalo Sarmiento (la Kalle) moderated the second table and Georgina Rodríguez (CNJC), Giyaur Rahman (UJEC), César Andrade (ALKQC, Transgang Researcher, UPF), Núria Bienvenido (AFEV) and Aitor Urruticoechea (Fridays For Future) participated on it. The participants talked about their own experiences of participation in social movements, youth platforms or street groups. This table generated an interesting debate with the public, mostly made up of workers and street educators.
