III Transgang Training Seminar in UPF
Abeer Musleh speaks about young people creating their own space in Palestine
On Monday, May 27, 2019, the third TRANSGANG TRAINING SEMINAR took place in the Communication Department of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. This cycle of seminars is organized by the European project Transnational Gangs as Agents of Mediation: Experiences of conflict resolution in youth street organizations in Southern Europe, North Africa and the Americas.
On this occasion the title of the seminar was 'Violence, Youth and Agencies in MENA Countries'. Researchers from the Transgang project and guest speakers participated in the III Transgang Training Seminar. Mónica Figueras-Maz, coordinator of the research group JOVIS.com (UPF) was in charge of the Welcome. Jose Sánchez-García (UPF), researcher of the project, spoke about 'youth and violence in Mena Countries'. In second place, Abeer Mushel (Betlehem Univeristy, Palestine), the guest speaker of the seminar, focused her presentation on ‘how young people create their own space in a context of colonization, speaking specifically about the case of Palestine’. Gemma Aubarell (TRANSGANG Ethical Advisory Board) made a reflection around the previous presentations and Carles Feixa (PI of the Transgang project) closed the seminar.
