Last Wednesday May 15 took place the event "Scientific Excellence in Catalonia: +300 ERC Grants" at the Contemporary Cultural Center of Barcelona (CCCB). Different representatives of the European Research Council and the University and Research System of Catalonia as Jean-Pierre Bourguignon (president of the European Research Council) and Francesc Xavier Grau (Secretary of University and Research), among others, attended to the event.

A section of the event was dedicated to the presentations of five researchers who have obtained grants from the European Research Council in different calls and scientific areas. Specifically, the researchers were Frank Koppens (ICREA researcher of the Institute of Photonic Sciences); Carles Feixa (professor of social anthropology at the Pompeu Fabra University); Jelena Radjenovic (ICREA researcher at the Catalan Institute for Water Research); Paul Verschure (ICREA researcher at the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia); and Ana Caño (group leader at the Agrigenomics Research Center).

Carles Feixa presented the Transgang project, focusing on the main objectives, research methodologies and expected outputs. He also screened the video of the project, available on the Youtubde channel of the project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYItBa8BmsY
