The most important workshop on gangs celebrated its 18th edition in the Netherlands

The Transgang Project has been presented at the Eurogang Conference by Carles Feixa, principal investigator of the Project, and Ariadna Fernandez-Planells, researcher caring on the social media research of the Trangang Project. Scholars from Europe and the United States have received with interest the Project and showed their interest on the forthcoming results.

This year, the Eurogang conference has taken place in the Netherlands, organized by Jan Dirk de Jong (University of Applied Sciences Leiden) and Frank Weerman (Erasmus University Rotterdam). This edition the topic focused on “Gangs in a Modern Age of Social Media. Implications for the Eurogang Definition and Instruments for Multi-site, Multi-method, Comparative Research”.

The Eurogang workshops provide a means by which researchers and practitioners can interact, discuss, and consider strategies for understanding gangs and troublesome youth groups worldwide. The pre-conference started on Tuesday 26th of June (in Rotterdam) and continued with the conference itself the 27th in Almen. The Workshop concluded on Friday the 29th of June.
