On January 18, a special session of the Taula de Nova Recerca (New Research Debate Panel) of the Communication Department of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra was dedicated to the presentation of the TRANSGANG Project (Transnational Gangs as Agents of Mediation: Experiences of conflict resolution in youth street organizations in Southern Europe, North Africa and the Americas).

The event was presented and conducted by Dr. Mònica Figueras-Maz, coordinator of the Research Group on Youth, Society and Communication (JOVIScom) and different presentations took place. Eva Martin, head of the research service at UPF, presented the call for Grants of the European Research Council (AdG-ERC). Dr. Carles Feixa Pàmpols, principal investigator of Transgang, presented the main objectives, structure and activities of the project. Dr. José Sánchez García, ethnographic coordinator of the Transgang project, focused his presentation on the methodology of the project. César Andrade and Maria Oliver, collaborators of the project, also intervened in the event.

The documentary film related to the project ‘violencias y bandas juveniles’ was also presented in order to discuss the implications for future research  (Diario Vice (Movistar Plus TV) 24-11-2017.
