Emily Theophilou is a postdoctoral researcher in the Interactive and Distributed Technologies for Education (TIDE) Group at the Information and Communication Technologies Department of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), in Barcelona.  She holds a PhD from UPF and a BSc in Multimedia Computing (First Class) from Coventry University in the UK. Her bachelor thesis focused on how online assessments can be personalised towards students to enhance their learning.  She then obtained her Master’s in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media from the UPF where her master thesis was related to distributed learning and how to apply it to a programming course.

Her research interests are focused on Technology-Enhanced Learning, Social Emotional Learning, Music and Education and how social media can be used to support and educate students.
