Ishari Amarasinghe was awarded a full scholarship by Anita Borg Institute, which was sponsored by Amazon to attend the 2017 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC) Conference. The conference was held in Orlando, Florida, October 4-6, 2017.
GHC Conference is the largest technical conference for women in computing. The GHC Co-founded by Dr. Anita Borg and Dr. Telle Whitney in 1994 and inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper. GHC is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Leaders from industry, academia and government presented their work during the conference while special sessions focusing role of women in today's technology fields was also included.
