Automatic summary generation is a Natural Language Processing application that can help both students and professors in the automated generation of text summaries. Good quality summaries enable readers in deciding about the relevance of a document, helping in report editing as well as in the preparation of exams, presentations or lectures. This project develops an automated summarization software for Spanish and Catalan texts to ease the access to the information contained in the textual notes of university courses. The tool will be able to create generic summaries of textual documents as well as to scope these summaries with respect to the topivc of interest for the rader or considering the topics explained during a course. This tool will be accessible by means of a Web interface.
