Pablo Accuosto holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad de la República, Uruguay. He is involved as a pre-doctoral researcher in the project "Mining the Knowledge of Scientific Publications" in the context of a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence Program.
His research interests include knowledge extraction from texts, NLP applied to scientometrics and NLP approaches to computational argumentation. He is also interested in ethical aspects involved in the application of technology - in particular, in the field of artificial intelligence.
He is a research affiliate at the Observatic, a multi-disciplinary research group at the University of the Republic, in Uruguay, that explores potential social impacts of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
Pablo has been previously involved in projects aimed at harnessing the potential of ICTs for human development both as project coordinator at the Third World Institute in Uruguay (, and as research coordinator at the Association of Progressive Communications (
He has also worked as a private consultant in the area of systems development and, between 2013 and 2016, he contributed to the development of the Global Open Knowledge Hub ( initiative at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex in the UK.
