First meeting of the Spanish Excellence Network on Intelligent Data Processing and Natural Language Generation (iGLN) a group founded to facilitate the collaboration among Spanish research groups of reference in Soft Computing and Natural Language Generation

On January 25th, The TALN group at the UPF participated to the first meeting of the Spanish Excellence Network on Intelligent Data Processing and Natural Language Generation (iGLN), which brings together 10 research groups that have expertise on Soft Computing (SC) and/or Natural Language Generation (NLG). The main objective of the iGLN network will be to facilitate the initiation of collaboration among Spanish research groups of reference in SC and NLG, with the dual objective of i) identifying common points of convergence and challenges for the two areas, impact and relevance at both the model and application levels; and (ii) develop a roadmap that defines and addresses these challenges in the immediate future through joint R&D&I activities. The iGLN network has recently been granted a two-year funding from the Spanish ministry of economy, industry and comptetitiveness.
