R package by Jorge Cimentada

21.09.2017

Dear all,

we are pleased to announce that the R package perccalc created by RECSM's member Jorge Cimentada is now on CRAN, please see package details here.

This package is an implementation of two functions that estimate values for percentiles from an ordered categorical variable as described by Reardon (2011). One function estimates percentile differences from two percentiles while the other returns the values for every percentile from 1 to 100. This is useful when dealing with ordered categorical values and the user is interested in turning the ordered categories into percentiles or calculating differences between the latent percentile distribution. For more concrete examples, see this and this reproducible example.

Please let Jorge know if you find any bugs or problems in the package in Github . You can contact Jorge at [email protected]
