The GESIS Panel is a probability-based mixed-mode access panel infrastructure which offers the academic social science community a unique opportunity to collect and use primary data free of charge.
The survey is conducted in six waves per year, so there is one wave every two months. The GESIS Panel sample is representative for the German-speaking population aged between 18 and 70 years. Approximately 75 percent of each wave are reserved for studies submitted by researchers from various social sciences fields. Proposals can be submitted throughout the year without a specific deadline. The collected data is freely accessible for researchers all over the world via the GESIS Archive.
This presentation will give an overview of the concept, the methodological aspects and the usage opportunities of the GESIS Panel. The topics include the recruitment process and sample characteristics, submission procedures as well as an overview of the different datasets and documentation.
