Begüm Dereli, is a researcher in Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM), has been awarded the grant in the framework of the 2018 UPF the Planetary Wellbeing initiative, and will receive a grant to conduct fieldwork activities as a part of her PhD dissertation entitled “Refugee Integration through Higher Education: Syrians in Turkey” supervised by Dr. John Palmer in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, Spain.

In the context of the fırst strategy of UPF the Planetary Wellbeing initiative, “promoting a new generation of scholars of planetary wellbeing”, awarded grants to encourage PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to participate in various activities in the field of planetary wellbeing. The selected actions aims to promote multidisciplinary research in the field of planetary wellbeing and support a new generation of scholars seeking to orient their research around this challenge.
