"Using Technology for Real-Time Automated Survey Quality Control: LAPOP’s FALCON system". Seminar organized by RECSM and the Department of Political and Social Sciences (UPF). 24 May, 2018. 15h, Room 40.012.  Presented by Mitchell Seligson, professor at Vandervilt University, creator of LAPOP and one of the leading scholars in Public Opinion in Latin America.

Abstract: Quality control of field surveys remains a vexing challenge, more so today when high levels of street crime motivate interviewers to avoid tough neighborhoods, or to even attempt to fabricate interviews. LAPOP has built an integrated series of programs called FALCON to detect in virtually real-time, deviation from sample designs and to detect and prevent many forms of falsification.  This presentation will show how different kinds of field errors are dealt with at LAPOP.
