Carsten Q. Schneider stays at UPF until June 2018

Carsten Q. Schneider is Pofessor of Political Science at the Central European University (CEU), Budapest. His research focuses on political regime types and their change in different world region. He is currently studying the political consequences of social inequalities on democratic processes. Schneider is also publishing on social science methodology, with a specific focus on set-analytic methods and Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). 

His research has been published by, among others, Cambridge University Press, Comparative Political Studies , European Journal of Political Research, Socio-Economic Review, Sociological Methods and Research, and others (for more details, see https://scholar.google.de/citations?user=h8S1vnAAAAAJ&hl=de)

During his stay at UPF until June 2018, Schneider plans to advance with his co-authored book on set-theoretic multi-method research; to present a new release of the R package SetMethods; to finalize a paper on the mechanisms transmitting social inequalities into political abstention across different welfare regimes; and to explore the potentials of analyzing the V-Dem data with the tools of set-theoretic methods.
