Ljiljana Despalatović is a senior lecturer in the University Department of Professional Studies at the University in Split, where she had been a faculty member since 2009. She is the deputy head of the Information Technology Department.

Ljiljana holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, as well as a Master of Education in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Faculty of Science at the University of Zagreb. After graduation, she was working as a software developer in the automotive industry for more than ten years.

Besides standard computer science interests, her research interests lie in the area of graph algorithms and complex networks, which are large scale, scale-free, self organizing real world networks.
