The Athens Lifelong Learning Institute in the context of the “Schools4Inlusion Project” organized on the 14th of July 2022 a Multiplier Event at Impact Hub Athens, which is a co-working & events space, also providing services to anyone committed to social innovation.

A total of 19 participants took part in the informative event for the Schools4Inclusion Project. The profile of the participants was in accordance with the project description. Trainers, teachers, students and youth workers from Athens actively participated in the event in order to be part of the promotion of inclusive education in the Greek Primary and Secondary schools.

During the event, the project’s partners, duration, goals and results were presented to the participants. The Inclusive Education Guide, the online Toolkit for inclusion and all the educational tools that were developed by the partnership were introduced and participants had the opportunity to navigate through the platform and ask questions. Moreover, the concept, the structure and the development of the Action Plan was presented and discussed as a means to promote inclusive education through the whole-school approach.

During the event, two teachers from the three participating schools, which piloted the Schools4Inclusion project approach and results, shared their personal views and experiences regarding inclusive education in their schools, the obstacles they faced during their participation in the project and the results of their efforts in their school environments. One of them presented the school’s Action Plan and some of the activities which were organized and implemented in the school (such as intercultural activities and a song, produced by migrant students with collaboration with their schoolmates from Greece). Afterwards, participants were given the opportunity to express their concerns and thoughts regarding the future of inclusive education in Greece. A fruitful discussion was initiated regarding the sustainability of the Schools4Inclusion project and the benefits it can provide to teachers as well as to disadvantaged learners, especially students from migrant/ refugee background.
