We are thrilled to announce that CREW has been granted a subvention to start developing a VR application for the treatment of depression.

The project (called Soulhacker) aims to realize a new kind of virtual research environment that allows to establish a direct link between the individual emotion versus the environment.

Through a “full body free movement” of both patient and therapist in a (large area) virtual environment and with the help of biofeedback, a more complete picture of the patient's behaviour can be obtained. The path to self-healing and self-treatment is an important aspect here.

The team will work together with Dr. Georges Otte (who also chairs the Creative User Group panel), Dr. Dirk Deridder and his colleagues form Brai3n , a center for neuromodulation https://www.brai3n.com/en/ and an Art School in Brussels, R.I.T.C.S.
