The Department of Political and Social Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Comparative Politics (preferred start period September 2022, although certain flexibility is possible). We welcome applications from those with research and teaching interests in the broad field of Comparative Politics. We are open-minded in relation to substantive and geographical focus, emphasizing the excellence of research above all, and the use of rigorous approaches to address important political questions. We welcome all applicants, especially those with an interest in the politics of the Global South, contentious politics, conflict, and the intersection between comparative and international politics.

Candidates should have demonstrated evidence for research experience in the discipline of Comparative Politics and must have strong background in comparative research methods. They must also have a record of publishing in disciplinary-relevant top journals in Political Science and Comparative Politics, and provide evidence of quality teaching capacity. With the aim of building a diverse academic community, applications from women and ethno-racial minorities are especially encouraged.
