Federica Sacco is an italian PhD student at PhySense research group, Department of Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona, Spain. In July 2015 she obtained her MSc degree in Biomechanics and Biomaterials (a Biomedical Engineering Master program) at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Her Master's project was an experimental thesis about the creation of a paradigmatic pathological model of aortic valve stenosis for further application to valvuloplasty and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).

She started her PhD in PhySense research group under the supervision of Dr. Constantine Butakoff in collaboration with the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre, under supervision of Dr. Jazmin Aguado­Sierra.
