Georgina Palau Caballero received her BSc degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, in 2010. She received her MSc degree in Mathematical Engineering, specialised in Biomathematics, in 2011. Her master’s thesis was carried out in collaboration with the University Investigation Institute of Natural Sciences at Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB). She started her PhD in the research group Physense, under the supervision of Dr. Bart Bijnens, in April 2012. Her thesis is focused on a model-based approach towards understanding changes in cardiac performance induced by exercise.
