Cecília received her MSc in biomedical engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2012. Her master's project in INESC-ID Lisboa was related to class imbalance in classification tasks, in particular the prognosis of Alzheimer's Disease dementia. This made her interested in the use machine learning to help clinical decision. Following class imbalance, she joined Feedzai for nearly two years. Feedzai uses event processing and machine learning for fraud detection. In March 2015, she joined PhySense with hopes help clinicians select patients for cardiac resynchronization therapy using decision trees, under the orientation of Oscar Camara and Anders Jonsson.
