GUARDIOLA GARCIA, MARTA
Marta Guardiola is a Postdoc and visiting professor at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona, Spain, where he works in the biomedical research area. Marta Guardiola Garcia received the M.Sc. (Ing) and the Ph.D. (Doctor Ing.) degrees in electrical engineering (telecommunication engineering) from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, in 2008 and 2013, respectively. During the Ph.D. she was a visiting scholar at Computational Electromagnetics Group of University of Bristol.
Her main research interest is focused on microwave imaging for breast cancer and brain stroke detection. This interdisciplinary work halfway between engineering and medicine included the formulation and development of imaging algorithms, EM modeling of human tissues and the design and fabrication of imaging acquisition systems and measurement campaigns.
Marta recieved a FPU (Formación del Profesorado Universitario) Fellowship by the Spanish Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte in 2009, and she recieved 3 awards in international conferences.
