The Debris Project: Call for fixed-media works until October 15th
The Debris project is a call for new fixed media sound/music works in collaboration between Vertixe Sonora Ensemble (Galiza), Phonos (Barcelona, and DME (Lisbon).
The call proposes to explore the sound materials found in the Demiurge’s Debris database, creating a fixed media work of maximum 8 audio channels and 12 minutes. Demurge is a performance synthesis engine built on General Adversarial Networks for sound synthesis and a custom Transformer network for sequence generation / composition.
The project’s interdisciplinary committee will be composed by members of the collaborating institutions:

The comittee will select a maximum of 6 works to be used as part of Demiurge’s project and to be included in a CD publication. The works will be presented in Hong Kong, Vigo, Barcelona, and Lisbon during 2022.
Important information
- Each awardee will receive an artist fee of 300 €.
- All submissions should have a maximum duration of 12 minutes.
Interested applicants should send the following material to [email protected]:
- Audio file in .aiff format (16/24bit at 44.1/48kHz) containing a stereo or binaural version of the work.
- Interleaved multichannel surround version (up to 8 channels) along with set-up/routing information.
