First LGBTIQA+ Studies Conference
First LGBTIQA+ Studies Conference
To encourage LGBTIQA+ studies and to make them visible are told to be two of the main strategies to combat LGBTIQA+phobia and to promote safe spaces for non-straight subjectivities.
With this in mind, we are thrilled to announce the First LGBTIQA+ Studies Conference of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The Conference aims to become a meeting point for students and researchers of any discipline and level, who, from our university community, are involved in LGBTIQA+ topics in their research and/or creative work.
Queer studies tend to be solitary and, in the worst case, openly confronted. The First LGBTIQA+ Studies Conference aims to combat this loneliness and other barriers that impede the free development of LGBTIQA+ Studies.
To achieve this goal, we call together students and/or researchers of our University in order to share their research work, creative projects, research groups or activism... related to LGBTIQA+ topics. During the Conference, we aim to draw a global image of the current situation of the LGBTIQA+ Studies in our University, as well as to promote a fluid, ongoing and further conversation.
