Grant Open Call for young researchers in care of children under six years - 2020/2021 academic year

The purpose of this grant is to facilitate the research of young researchers with responsibilities for childcare. These grants are intended to provide financial support for childcare assistance.

Conditions:
  • The grants will amount up to 200 euros per month, extendable up to a maximum of 400 euros per month in the case of researchers with single-parent families.
  • In the event that the researcher is responsible for more than one child under the age of six in the framework of a non-single-parent family, the aid may be increased up to a maximum of 300 euros per month.
  • In the event that the researcher is in charge of the care of more than one child under the age of six in the framework of a single-parent family, the aid may be increased up to a maximum of 500 euros per month.
  • The grants will last for one year.
  • Grants will always be linked to the duration of the candidate's contract.
 
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Enjoy a full-time contract as a pre-doctoral researcher or postdoctoral fellowship at an integrated UPF center. In the case of researchers with postdoctoral contracts, in addition, you must not have defended your doctoral thesis for more than 3 years, excluding months of maternity / paternity leave and medical leave related to the maternity / paternity.
  • To be in charge of the care of a child under the age of six at the time of receiving the aid. The beneficiaries of childcare grants who turn six during the twelve months after the date of granting it will cease to be received from the day after the creature’s birthday.
  • Be a woman and be in charge of the care of at least one child or be a man and be in charge of the care of at least one child in a single-parent family.
  • These grants are incompatible with those that have the same purpose in the framework other calls.
 
Applications must include the following documentation:
  • a CV of no more than 2 pages; 
  • a letter of motivation; 
  • a photocopy of the family book or the certificate of adoption, keep legal or foster care; and (iv) a letter of support signed by the person in charge of the supervision of his doctoral thesis or postdoctoral research.

Calendars:
  1. Deadline for submission of applications: September 10, 2020.
  2. Deadline for publication of the provisional resolution: 25 September 2020.
  3. Deadline for publication of the final resolution: October 9, 2020.
  4. Grant start date: October 2020.
  5. Deadline for completion of grants: 30 September 2021.
