Reference

This page provides you with the source codes of the computations underlying

Andrzejak RG (2021) Chimera states confined by fractal boundaries in the complex plane. Chaos, 31, 053104, reprint supplementary figures.

If you use the source codes, please make sure that you give a reference to the manuscript. (The correct way to cite this paper is shown above, no page numbers should be given.)

Source code and workspaces

In order to understand the source code, you should first read the manuscript (pdf).

Below you find a zip-file containing matlab source codes and a matlab workspace containing the values of c1-c8 in double precision. To get started have a look at the comments in the source code AndrzejakChaos2021Example.m, which is included in the zip-file. The source code is commented. If you have problems in understanding how the code works, please contact us. We will try to comment the corresponding part of the code and upload a new version.

Before publishing the code, we simplified it and reduced it to the essentials to allow for a better understanding. We furthermore matched variable names in the code to those in the manuscript. We are confident that, also with these simplifications and changes, the code contains no bugs. However, if you encounter problems or bugs, please contact us.

On the 19.01.2024 we found a bug in one of the functions. The code would not have detected 'across pair chimeras' and 'triplet states'. We fixed this bug and below provide the corrected second release of the code. (See lines 161-179 and lines 187-209 in AndrzejakChaos2021CoreIterationR2.m). Using the system parameters in our paper, these states were never found. In fact, we assume that they do not exist. Nonetheless, if you used the first release of the code applying other system parameters, you should run some simulations again to assure that these states also do not exist in your settings. In case you have doubts, please get in contact with us.
