Five innovative projects from the UPF receive grants from the Knowledge Industry program

This initiative of the Secretary of Universities and Research of the Generalitat has awarded three grants to the "Product" category in the category "Seed", which add up to a total of 340,000 euros.

One of the three projects that have obtained funding in the 'Product' category is the NanoTarg.

The objective of this project is to develop a new tool for the diagnosis and treatment of ductal carcinoma of the pancreas, one of the most frequent forms of pancreatic cancer. The initiative, led by researcher Rubén Vicente, of the Molecular Physiology Laboratory, and researcher Pilar Rivera of the Biomedical and Biomedical Materials Laboratory, will carry out the preclinical validation of a technology platform based on biodegradable nanocapsules with capacity accumulate in the tumor, thus a contrast agent for early diagnosis and anticancer drugs to treat the disease.
