The Department of Information and Communications Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona invites applications for 3 post-doc positions in all areas of interest of the department. We seek highly qualified applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to teach at all levels. The Department coordinates teaching in Computer Science, Data Science, Audiovisual Systems Engineering, Networking Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. 

Interested candidates must hold a PhD degree in computer science, engineering or (applied) physics or mathematics. The Department is especially interested in candidates whose profile matches the major teaching needs of the Department and will be evaluated in the following aspects:

  1. Versatility to teach in undergraduate subjects from diverse areas in the Department

  2. Teaching experience (including number of hours, subject coordination, and quality).

  3. Fit of the research profile with the existing groups in the Department

  4. Excellence of the research profile

  5. Ability to teach in both English and one of the local languages (Spanish or Catalan).

The selected candidate will hold teaching and research responsibilities. Teaching will be done in subjects from the undergraduate programs of the Department with a total of 100 hours per year and aiming to become coordinator of at least one undergraduate subject. In addition to lecturing and course coordination responsibilities, general duties for these positions include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials, and maintaining a course website.   

The research tasks include the publication of research articles and the participation in proposals and projects of research and technology transfer. Research tasks shall not interfere with teaching tasks and will be developed within the research areas of the Department, preferably within some of the existing research groups.

This is a full-time non-tenure-track appointment, with a gross salary of 35,766.08 EUR / year. Position appointments may be for a duration of up to three years. Positions are renewable for up to three additional years, depending on performance and of administrative compatibility.
